Why has my pool turned green?▾
Algae take hold when free chlorine drops below 1 ppm or the pH gets out of control. Common causes: rain, extreme heat, heavy use, or a chlorine feeder that ran empty without you noticing.
How much algaecide should I add?▾
Preventive maintenance: 100–150 ml per 25 m³ per week. Shock treatment (water already green): 200 ml per 25 m³, applied after a prior shock-chlorine dose.
How do I fix green water?▾
Four steps, in order: (1) adjust pH to 7.2–7.6, (2) shock chlorine at 15–20 g/m³, (3) algaecide at 200 ml/25 m³, (4) flocculant the next day, then vacuum the bottom. Ready in 24–48 h.
